ANTE GOTOVINA's attorney Luka Mišetić submitted a criminal report today against three UN military observers for concealment or destruction of the so-called "artillery logs". The report was submitted to the Municipal State Attorney’s Office in Zagreb, said Mišetić.
A criminal report was submitted against a Russian, Alexander Tchernetsky, General Peter Gage Williams and another Russian, Viktor Tarusin. It is stated in the report that there is reasonable suspicion that on an undetermined day in September 1995 at an undetermined location 2 kilometers southeast from Veliki Mračaj and later on the same day at a location 2 – 2.5 kilometers southwest from Bosansko Grahovo, UNMO member Alexander Tchernetsky found Croatian Army documents which revealed certain information on the use of artillery during operation "Storm" and that he handed over the same to the UNMO Chief of Staff and UN Deputy Chief Military Observer, Major General Peter Gage Williams who after examining the documents handed them over to Chief Military Information Officer Viktor Tarusin, after which all trace of the documents was lost.
In the statement of reasons in the above mentioned criminal report it is said that Tchernetsky stated during his testimony in the case against Gotovina that he found some documents including maps and a plan of artillery fire support in the sector of their team during operation ‘Storm’. He also said that the documents were marked "secret". "On page 7 of my prior statement, in the second paragraph, I wish to add that the last name of the Colonel from the UK was Williams. In that same paragraph, I wish to add that the Chief Information Officer's name was Tarusin Viktor, and he told me that he personally delivered these maps (as well as Victor's own report on them) to the archive in Zagreb." – said Tchernetsky whose statement was added to the report’s Statement of reasons.
